Canon 50D Visions of China (rumor-leak) (updated)

We already mentioned the Canon 50D Hawaiian connection rumor but now we have what looks like a leak from China! A long list in the Fred Miranda forums discusses the potentially leaked specs. The Miranda discussion has also moved to the dpreview Canon forum.

Again please treat these as rumors (although note that this appeared on Canon China's website), until or unless they are officially announced. Canon has a history of geopolitical leaks, and the "choice" of China coincides with the Beijing Olympics.

The alleged leak mentions a 15-megapixel EF-S (1.6x) sensor, around 6fps burst mode, 100K shutter life, DIGIC 4, 9-point cross-type auto focus, and a 3" LCD among others. But there may be more, there is also mention of built-in anti-shake image stabilization. So could it be that the 50D would have sensor-shift stabilization that the competition (Olympus, Sony, Pentax) have been sporting for the last few models? According to human translators in the various forums (see below), the mention of sensor image stabilization was a result of bad translation and wishful thinking :)

Update! The Imaging Insider points us to detailed translated specs of the 50D, emanating from the Canon.China leakage.
